Neonatal Active Lung Model GINA

The first active lung simulator for neonatology.

While training on a simulator is mandatory for pilots before they go into practice, almost all trainee doctors in neonatology education are allowed and required to give mechanical respiration to babies without any practical experience.
We have developed such a Neonatal Active Lung Model, which simulates the respiratory behaviour and respiratory mechanics of a premature and full-term infant as far as possible.

  • Max. tidal volume 37 ml

  • Adjustable compliance in the range from 0.3 to 3 ml/mbar with selectable linear or signoid compliance characteristic

  • Alternative fixed compliance 0.5 and 1 ml/mbar

  • Endotracheal tube from 2.0 to 3.5 mm

  • Airway resistance at 0.5 l/min from approx. 30 to 180 mbar*s/l

  • Spontaneous breathing (regular, irregular, periodic & sighs)

  • All relevant pressures

  • Flow & volume

  • Inspiratory breathwork

  • Bar chart, y-t and x-y diagrams

  • Zoom with measuring function
